Sumilon Island, Cebu

Sumilon Island is located in the southeastern tip of the municipality of Oslob, Cebu. It is a 24-hectare coral island off the coast of Bancogon, Oslob, Cebu. This island has developed the very famous Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort. They’ve established this island into an eco-friendly sanctuary for those who love to explore the beauty of nature that is away from the city life.

How to get there
If you are currently situated in Cebu City then it very easy to get there. You’ll just have to get on a bus bound for Oslob in South Bus Terminal Cebu. The trip will be around 3-4 hours, depends on the traffic situation especially in the city area. You can take the bus as early as 3am so you’ll be able to escape the heavy traffic and you’ll reach Oslob earlier than usual. As of 2016, the fare would be around 150.00 from the city to Bancogon, Oslob. From there you have to ride on a ferry inclusive of your package price at Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort Bancogon mainland. For day tour package prices for weekdays would be 1,500.00 all in including your lunch and 2,000 for weekends.

If you want to stay there for overnight or several days, you may book at SumilonBluewater Island Resort reservation site.

What you can do there
You can do several island activities there. We availed the day tour package which allows us to do kayaking, fish feeding, snorkeling, visit and swim in the white sand bar, swim in the infinity pool, enjoyed the lunch buffet, and the resorts free ride around the island. Payags and shower rooms are already included in your free amenities upon your stay there. There’s also the lighthouse but unfortunately we weren’t able to drop a visit in this site.
